|Subject: Haneyya: Palestinian state only guarantee for stability Wed Sep 29, 2010 4:24 am|| |
Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya has said that the only road to security and stability in the region was the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that statehood should be coupled with return of refugees and freedom for all prisoners, underlining that occupation has no room on Palestinian land.
The Palestinian people would not drop their weapons and would not stop resistance as long as occupation remained on national soil, Haneyya stressed.
The premier, meanwhile, welcomed the recent positive moves in a bid to forge national reconciliation, affirming his government's readiness to exert all efforts possible to reach a strong and true reconciliation that maintains Palestinian rights and constants.
Haneyya, speaking to his cabinet ministers on Tuesday on the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada, said that true reconciliation is the only means to restore Palestinian unity.
